“That’s Scary, Daddy”
Recently, my three year-old daughter and I had a "Daddy/Daughter Date" for lunch. It was too cold for a picnic outside, so we decided to go to our church and find a spot for an indoor picnic.

This Sunday, the Seahawks enter the Super Bowl as one point underdogs. Seems like we've been here before, as last year they were two point underdogs and we know how that one turned out. A complete blowout win for Seattle. You gotta' wonder if this will be same song, second verse. After all, it is being played the day before Groundhog Day. But my thoughts in preparation for the Super Bowl are about a specific point in time in the game, that space just before each snap. Consider this as just an updated metaphor for the rich imagery of 1 Peter 1:13.
Today is my mom's 70th birthday. As a gift to her, I've pulled together 70 character traits about her from family and friends.
"Home for the holidays". It's a significant theme at Christmas time. But there's a different kind of home I'm thinking about right now.
I don't like suffering any more than the next guy. It feels like a burden. Since I wrote my last post (though posted last week, it was written a few weeks ago), we've been through a lot as a family. It's only the most recent thing to impact us in a long string of spiritual conflict...
This season of book writing has been an interesting journey so far, one that I'm sure to unpack in a future post. Suffice it to say this: God has called me to speak some things into the Christian leaders of my generation and the generation just behind me. But in true God fashion, He's teaching me through this process first.
