May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. – Psalm 90:17 (NIV)
While some of you have known me for only a short time, many of you have known me for years, if not decades. You know my heart for the Lord and my heart for seeing people transformed by an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Do you know others who might have interest in following the articles I write on this blog? If so, would you prayerfully consider forwarding to them your favorite article from the last few months? You can copy and paste the link to your favorite article from my blog. Or if you’re reading this from an email, you’ll find the most recent few articles I’ve written at the bottom of the email. Simply click on your favorite, then use the “forward to a friend” button at the bottom of the article. This will forward a copy of the article to one or more friends whom you feel might have interest or might benefit.
One word of caution, though, if you’re forwarding from the email. In the past couple of months, a handful of you have simply forwarded your email to a friend without using the actual “forward to a friend” button. While I appreciate your desire to share my content, forwarding the article to someone in this manner may have unintended consequences. When you simply forward one of your own emails to a friend, you are actually forwarding your email to them. This may seem inconsequential, but if they aren’t interested and decided to “unsubscribe”, They are actually clicking on your unsubscribe button and unsubscribing your email address from this blog. This requires me having to verify whether you do or don’t want to receive my articles and then correcting the error in my Mail Chimp account. Lots of unnecessary work.
So, the easiest and most effective way to share my content is either to copy the URL directly from my blog online or to use the “forward to a friend” button located at the bottom of any one of my emailed articles. Doing this would ensure you don’t get unnecessarily deleted yourself!
Thank you, in advance, for your prayerful consideration of one or two individuals who you feel would benefit. In addition to the general content I write about, I’ll also begin writing more intentional encouragement for Christian leaders to maintain health and stamina in their leadership roles, including maintenance of moral integrity. This in advance of the release of my newest book, Unburdened (InterVarsity Press, September 2015).
More excerpts from the book to follow in the coming weeks.
